LuM Lighting Design worked with STG Design for the façade and interior lighting design of the Oracle Waterfront Campus on the shores of Ladybird Lake in Austin, Texas. The complex was designed with the employee in mind while honoring Austin’s unique culture, lifestyle, and natural surroundings. The 560,000 sf campus provides Oracle’s estimated 10,000 employees with innovative workspaces, training center, tech bar, dining facility, fitness center, outdoor terraces, and a Starbucks lounge.

Facilitating a fast-track delivery process, the lighting design centered around a kit-of-parts concept that assigned lighting solutions to specific architectural elements. This allowed the architects and interior designers the freedom to adapt repetitive elements of the lighting design throughout the building without requiring a high degree of coordination amongst disciplines. While one team focused on repetitive design elements, LuM collaborated with another team and focused on creating unique solutions for design-specific areas such as the café, dining areas and the soaring entry atrium with a free-standing Starbucks and monumental stair.
